well, i guess i will make a diary on here since i have a few pictures and a few pumpkins. This is my first year with good seed from other generous growers. I have grown a few in the past on generic seed that were between 100 and 150 pounds. Last year i utilized advice from other growers on this site and got one to 197. Hoping to beat that this year. Ultimate goal for AG is 500, squash goal is 350 and field pumpkin goal is 50. I am anxious to get something to a weighoff as i never have participated before.

learned that my pumpkin (approx 280#)will be purchased by a dairy farm for a large fall festival in a few weeks. will be carved by a professional carver and on display for all to see. only downside is that it is the same day as the weighoff so i wont get to see it carved, but I'm looking forward to weighing my squash and field pumpkin.

They were proud of our harvest. Sized to be put up for sale. I think I will try to grow more big ones next year instead of so many jack-o-lanterns.
