This is my sophmore year. Last year I lost the battle to aphids, SVBs, cuke beetles, and squash bugs. I can trace my interest to George Poirier and converstaion he had with my wife. This led to George sending me seeds, and the rest is history. This is an overall picture of the patch. Note that I have a limited space. Next year I have plans to expand, significantly.

I have three plants this year. 1362 Poirier, 500 Poirier. Many thanks to George Poirier. I also have one AG that I had as a back-up that I bought at Lowe's for $2.50/packet. I'll call this one the "Dill". The 1362 Poirier pollinated on 07/18/2008 and is now 19" circ. at 5 days.

The "Dill" aborted at 10 days. However, the 500 Poirier is doing well. My daughter decided this one met all of her criteria, "cute and round". She decided this will now be hers. The picture is her' to the scare off the squirrel that is enjoying our 'maters.

My lone growing pumpkin is the 500 Poirier. It has been putting on 2-3" per day. It has some surface splits around the stem, but these have healed. At 14 days it is is 36".

This little guy arrived on 08/06. I am letting it grow as the 1362 Poirier has only this one for now. This is on a side vine of a side vine of a side vine. This might turn into a fun one for the kids. The weather looks good for this one to take.
