amendment: Forgot to thank Doc Liggett for his help and supplying me with a couple of primo starters after all my seeds I purchased @ Circleville failed to germinate ( due to my lack of knowledge) for second year in a row. I learned more in about an hour from Doc. than I knew from all other experiences. Thanks again, Doc. Liggett

not a good entry. Lost the 1462 gibson 07 to storm damage. The other two, 1090 Liggett 07 and the Crosby 680 05 seem to have survived the storms quite well. Been an extremely wet m May & June.

Lousy-lousy weather.lost the 1462 gibson to a fallen tree limb. Other two, 1090 liggett and crosby 680 survived ok. The liggett is doing the best, but crosby is healthy. I wish I knew how to put photos on this page. Praying foe dry weather.

been a little lax on reports, but not on care and love to plants. The leggett is growing like a house afire. Main is at 8' and growing about 10" daily. Burying main as it grows, and added kelp last night. Fish emulsion goes tonight. Getting anxious for flowers. Is that common?

the crosby 680 05 is slower than the leggett1090 but is starting to pick up steam the last couple of days, had me worried there for a while. I wish I knew how to post pics. on here. The one I tried was actually a mistake, that is my 15 year old daughter and I don't know how to delete it. If you can help---contac [email protected] any help will be appreciated

My 680 crosby blessed me with a nice male, too bad it's about a week too soon. Also the crosby has a new little female coming on, but I think it is too close to the source. Named the leggett-TARZAN--come on tarzan and hang on to that vine, Pics. later today after my daughter awakens, she's the photographer.

just neasured "Tarzan" lat night, 28 1/2 inches on day 13 post pollination.. Sides are out to 16'+ on both sides and there are 'punkins on two sides approx. 15' from main. I'll leave them on for a while to insure Tarzan does o.ko. Bob Liggett e-mailed me today, tells me the orange color will develop in Sept. and size of Tarzan is excellent.

well all news is not good news. Tarzan has drastically slowed growth. now day 21, hasn't grown in last 6 days, but appears to be healthy. Boy, on the Crosby is growing at a nice clip and my secondary fruit on Liggett is doing well as well. Terminated and buried more sides on both plants yesterday and today Awaiting delivery of my Agro-K program delivery. Thank's to Frank Cook for his advice.

just a note..went to S.O.G.P.G.A. patch tour yeater. What a great bunch of folks. visited 6 payches, now I see how it's really done. Hopefully I will be able to apply what I learned to my growing efforts next year. A big thanks to the Vanderpools,Darrel Crosby, Dave Hoff, Joe & Lisa Gerchy, and a special thank you to Kenny Speakman for the seeds which I can't wait to try (maybe I'll move to Florida so I can start earlier), and of course, Robert Liggett, who's unending supply of knowledge and courtesy never ceases to overwhelm me. As far as my one survivor fruit, Growth sems slow, but learned yesterday most growers locally are experiencing similar problems...will measure the fruit this evening.

day 31 on liggett, 164 lbs. a meager gain of 4 lbs. overnight, oh well beats a blanck.. Pulled the Crosby up, at least I have more room to walk in patch

The remaining fruit on the Liggett has stopped growth for two days now. I have pollinated four new fruits on various sides hoping to get something for our Halloween party, (annual event). It has been a yearly blow-out with lots of food and guest, only requirement----must come in costume. Wish some of my new friends from this site lived close enough to attend. Last year was one of our very best---a new all time low was achieved--lol. I will start prep. for next years patch as soon as my new tiller arrives in a couple of days....look out growers, next year, like "Arnold" says, "I'll be back"!!A big thanks to all the people who helped me out with tutorage, encouragement, and general great conversation on the chat rooms. Come to the Circleville, Ohio Pumpkin Festival and weigh-offs Oct.15. I will be working the seed sale booth on Friday of the show, come by and say "Hello". Later, All

well the patch is nearly ready for the winter. Besides expanding patch to more than double the size, added gypsum, peat. alfalfa pekkets and 8 ton of composted horse manure, Just a few Agro-K goodies left to apply, then sow the winter rye, and put patch to bed for winter. Chillocothe weigh-offs are this Sat, and Circleville the following Wednesday,,I'll try to post a few choice pics. from both weigh-offs. Hope for a great turn-out at both weigh-offs. And thanks to anyone who helped me during the growing season, I learned so much, can't wait for next year.......Paul
