Picture of the Sign I am thinking about making for the patch, I work at a large steel manufacturing shop as a Drafter, so hopefully I can get this cut on the laser out of stainless. As long as no one minds me using the phrase?

"1000 Grande 2008" "1075 Daletas 2001" Well due to the "1075 Daletas 2001" and the "1000 Grande 2008" (golden ticket edition) not starting I am only going to go with (8) plants this year, I still have time to start others and get them in the ground, but 8 seems like a better number anyway. All other plants are looking good and were in the gound on 05-03-2009 and looked happy as of yesterday. I was really looking forward to growing the "1000 Grande 2008" but thats the way it goes sometimes.

Well we are back home with a healthy baby boy, thanks to everyone for the kind words, I stopped by the garden on the way to work this morning and man I have some weeding to do amazing what can happen in a matter of 3 days when the temps are high and the ground is wet, you would think that I didn't do anything to keep the grass and weeds down, no more pictures until I get the mess cleaned up. Plants are looking good lots of growth they are all between 9ft and 13ft time to pollinate once the temps drop a little bit currently mid 90's with very high humidity....

Well I can't complain 1 new born baby boy! and 8 sets on 8 plants that seem to be taking all in the last few weeks! about the only thing I would change is to give myself more time to take care of the weeds, but with the time I have I am doing all I can, next year I am for sure going with only (1) magical seed, I tried to play the fast and furious game last year and got outrun by weeds and slow and steady didn't seem to do much better most likley because I was out for about 1 1/2 weeks, however the plants are looking much better than last year well all but 3 anyway I think the heat stunted them, time will tell. Good Luck to all!!!

Sorry about all the long pauses between updates, for those of you watching my diary, it hasn't been that great of a year disease and weeds have taken most of my plants... being out for 2 weeks during my son’s birth hurt things more than I thought they would, however the “838 EST Bobier 2002” has still been chugging along no disease what’s so ever on this plant, still nice and green everywhere I have one est. at 130 lbs and still growing good, so maybe I can at least get a personal best still, the other plants have a couple softball size pumpkins on them but nothing seems to be setting I have lost an 80lbr and a 100 lbr, I am still keeping my fingers crossed for the Bobier. Good luck to everyone!!!!

Well my year is done, lost the Bobier @ 160lbs est. the bottom went soft. Oh well there is always next year and a new smaller patch, thanks to everyone who has sent me advice and seeds they will be planted I believe there are now 6 more growers in my area due to the kindness of everyone on this site. I know one first year gardener and AG grower has one sitting around 260lbs? thats enough for me to have a good year and to try again next year. Thanks again everyone! and Good Luck on the rest of the year!
