To try and encourage more people to grow more of the "other" giant vegetables, I put together a GIANT VEGETABLE STARTER PACK for growers at our local weigh-off. I have a bunch left that I am making available to everyone, so if you ever wanted to grow some of the other giants here is a great opportunity. All the seeds are from top genetics, and have been sourced from around the World. We are basically doing this at cost, but if there is any money left over it will go towards our GPC weigh-off at the Erin Fall Fair. More info can be found at our website www.ErinGiantPumpkinGrowers.weebly.com Each seed pack will contain a sheet with growing tips and each of the following seeds; Giant Pumpkin (3-5 packs, 5-6 seeds) Giant Squash (1-2 seeds) Limited Supply, may be substituted. Field Pumpkin (1-2 seeds) Bushel Gourd (2 packs, 6-7 seeds) Giant Marrow (3 seeds) Giant Watermelon (2-3 seeds) Limited Supply, may be substituted. Giant Kohlrabi (2 varieties, 5+ seeds each) Giant Beet (2 varieties, 5 seeds each) Giant Bell Pepper (5 seeds) Giant Radish (3 seeds) Giant Carrot (10-20 seeds) Giant Onion (5 seeds) Giant Rutabaga (5-10 seeds) Giant Tomato (2 strains, 3 seeds each) Tall Sunflower (5 seeds) + others if they become available The cost for each starter pack is only $15.00 in Canadian funds. To order yours please send the money via PayPal (best option) or Interac E-Transfer (Canada Only) to [email protected] Please add $2.00 for shipping in Canada, $3.00 for the US, and $5.00 for everywhere else. Please include a note with your address when sending online payments. Thank you for your support, good luck, and have fun! I will post when they are all gone. If I am able to get more seeds, I will make more available if there is the demand. Go to www.ErinGiantPumpkinGrowers.weebly.com for more info.

I got this seed pack in the giant veggie exchange. If this is your seed pack or if you know the info about it please go to the Bushel Gourd section on the message board and check out the Dan Westfall Question thread. I'm pretty sure this isn't a 177 Westfall Bushel Gourd as listed, but I would like to find out what it is. Thanks

Here is a satellite view of my patch. It's a few years old and the patch as well as the pumpkins have doubled in size since the picture was taken. You can see 4 pumpkins in the patch.

I'm growing one or two field pumpkins this year. I'll have to keep the plants small and hopefully the pumpkins big.

My tomato line-up, likely grow 10 -15 plants.

I'll be growing 2 bushel gourds this year and can hopefully cross the small seeded type with the big gnarly seed type.

I plan to squeeze in a couple marrow plants as well this year.

Change in my line up already. The 2008 Neptune I got in the WWGG raffle is completely empty so I had to make a last minute substitution.

I went with what looks like a great seed. This year, if all goes well I'll have 3 European seeds in my line up of 4 plants.

I picked a couple of personal best peppers today - 540 grams and 550 grams. Also my biggest onion weighed in at 4.55 pounds (not bad for Ontario but pretty small by UK standards).

Growing on the 1465 Boonen and crossed with the 2102 Meier. It could be one of my best pumpkins ever. One month til harvest.

One of my pumpkins went to a nearby craft brewer, Brothers Brewing Co. and they are using it to steep the grains for a batch of Giant Pumpkin Beer. Follow them on Facebook to get updates.

I can't wait to get a taste of Brothers Giant Pumpkin Beer. The pumpkin is off the 1947.5 Clementz crossed with the 2102 Meier, grown in 250 sqft, not because I didn't give it more room but for some reason it stopped growing as soon as the pumpkin set.
