Wednesday, August 28 View Page Season has been over since end of July. Yellow Vine Disease wiped out all my plants. Managed to save one side vine, 28 ft long now, no stump. Every fruit aborted, but I did get a pollination to take on this one vine, pollinated on August 1. Nothing big expected, just genetics. Fruit is growing well. No signs of YVD on this vine. Sunday, September 15 View Page Season pretty much done here. Fruit stopped growing, developed a soft spot on top, as seen in picture. Treated spot, scraped, fan on it now. Wednesday, December 11 View Page After much research and germination trials, many chemical formulations, dosages, and embryo cultures. 1 seed germinated out of the many I tried. Have tried at least 50 seeds so far, these are the only 2 to germinate. Will try to grow these out and cross them, just to get viable seeds for next season. So, squash size is not an issue for me, just want the genetics. Old school squash genetics from 90's.
