I try to stager my plantings of peas, lettuce, spinach and carrots so I can get a longer growing season. Still have to till some more compost in my new section so I can then plant my corn and peppers and brocoli. We haven't had much rain this spring so i am going to have start watering the garden soon. It was a little deformed when it started growing. The other plants are my acorn squash. Transplanted them in their own containers today. Thursday, April 24 View Page this is one of the giant watermellons that I got in the mail. i soaked it for two days and planted it on april 18th. just coming up now and looking good today on april 24th. still have to make it it's own patch/bed for it though. Friday, April 25 View Page transplanted my cucumber, other pumpkins and squash plants into their own pot on april 23rd. I left three outside in the little hoop houses I had built so see how they would handle it and of course we had the coldest night we have had all spring and they got zapped. Glad that I have back up plants and that i didn't put my giant pumpkin plants out. Won't try leaving any plants outside for a couple more days. it is supposed to warm up slowly over the next week. Too many plants in the house. Got to get them outside soon.
