Growing as good as could be expected. Seed started April 17th and it took was slower than expected to germinate. It's been hot here the past week and the forecast says its staying for another week, 27-30 c daytime highs.

30-32 Celcius the past few days, that's 90f, pretty hot for the first week of June here. Pinched off a couple females, main vine 8ft, slow secondaries but better than most years

Well I was wrong, pollination this morning at 16ft. Only problem is my males on 2 different plants had little to no pollen but yet had good pollen when I checked some last week. So I drove 5 miles south of here for a plant a gave away only to see the pollen wet from the heavy rain last night. Then drove 10 miles north to 2 other plants I gave away and got 3 with pollen. Before that I had also used a couple old males from yesterday that had good pollen, so we'll see, I used about 8 males lol, hopefully it takes. There's 4 or so on secondaries coming soon and another one on the main but it's getting late, fingers crossed

Well, down to the final one on the barron. One foot out on a secondary so I'm just considering it an extra long stem lol, I've never grown on a secondary but it was the best one. All the fruit on the main had deformed lobes but perfect ones on secondaries. I still pollinated the main vine fruits but was never happy with the shapes and/or growth rate. They all got off to slow starts though too with the first few weeks of july being alot colder than june was, nights were near freezing and with quite afew cloudy/smoky skies

Stem and shoulder split now only a couple days from weigh off. Hopefully holds together enough and doesn't go through. I'll probably still take it anyways even if it does, there's a pretty decent chance its a pb regardless, and it'll also be good to see one of the Bernstrom giants too.
