With last weeks weather i thought i might take a chance and get in a little early this year.Today it is o degrees and snowing. The green houses were built with only a slight grade and the snow is creating alot of weight on the roofs.I hope this changes back to rain soon.
Monday, May 12 View Page
The green houses did hold up.Spent the day sweeping snow off the tops. Haven't seen the sun since Fri past and the forcast is calling for rain through the week. The plants are still looking healthy although not movement happening.

These things just devoured my 1202 but wouldn't even touch the 1287.

One day of sun in close to 2 weeks.Talk about getting off on the wrong foot. By the way Jeff your 1202 is fine. The flies are from decomposing seaweed and do absolutly no harm.

This evening we are recieving heavy rain. The ground is saturated and i know if i didn't get in when i did it would be weeks before the ground is workable. All plants are showing signs of improvement. The 1287 is adapting very well all things considered. I'm starting to think i made the right move after all.

Looks like the 1202 has some pretty stiff competion. Three feet away lies a club rooted 1287 that is looking really good. I will not keep a slower growing plant. If they don't move they live short lives in this patch.

Having photo upload problems just checking to see if this goes up!
Thursday, May 29 View Page
i've been trying for 3 days to get some pics posted. Problem uploading seems to be fine now. This is the 994.5 hunt. I initially had 2 plans 5 feet apart but had to replace 1 with the 1081 leonzi ( 845 x 898 ) The plant i removed was growing very slowly & wilting very easily.
Thursday, May 29 View Page
This is a club root 1287 van kooten. Looks very healthy considering all the rain & cold weather we've been having. You cant see it in the pictures but its showing signs of vining.
Thursday, May 29 View Page
The 1202 is 4 days older than the rest of my plants but with the last few days of sun ive noticed alot of improvement.

1287 Van kooten on the left and 1202 reid on the right. Lots of sunshine the last couple of days & the plants are really moving now.
Wednesday, June 4 View Page
Couple of 798's. The plant on the left seems like it wants to grow straight up.
Wednesday, June 4 View Page
THE 994.5 Hunt {842x898] is the smallest of my plants. It is growing at a slower pace than the rest but is very healthy looking. Unless something happens to this plant, it will stay. The forecast is looking good for the next week so maybe we will see a little growth spurt.
Sunday, June 8 View Page
This 1287 van kooten is really moving considering the miserable weather we have been recieving. This is my best plant so far.
Sunday, June 8 View Page
The 1202 reid is growing very well also. The only problem is that these plants are 3ft apart and one has to go soon. I hope there is no hard feeleings when i make my decision. Believe me its going to kill me to cut off one of these plants.
Sunday, June 8 View Page
From the pic of the 1202 it may appear to be flat vining but it is perfectly round . I like to use those leaves underneath the main as a cushion.Eventualy they will have to be removed. If only we had some weather.
Saturday, June 14 View Page
Forgot to mention. There is absolutly no mycorrhizae or compost tea used in my patch this year. Bring It On.

Getting ready to pollinate my 798 at 12ft in the next couple of days until I walked into the patch this morning and noticed the main broken off 8in before the pumpkin. It was a very calm night and the main was supported with bamboo stakes. No idea what caused this but I guess a secondary will have to pick up the slack~

Just back from Disney with the family and other than the weeds out of control everythings looking great. The 1287 is approx 900lbs and the 994.5 is just over 700. The 1287 is averaging 4in cir a day. The pumpkin on the 798 plant will be going to the fair for the kids on sept14.This plant will definitely be grown again. The 1287 club had a small break where the main meets the stem on the stump side a couple of weeks ago and slowed down considerably. Photos tonight.

Six secondaries will be grown onto the 8x8 bed i prepared for the 798.Lots of good stuff in there. What beautiful new healthy growth i have going into the month of sept. This one is going to 1000 if its the last thing i do. Its going to be a Kenny Rose Special. lol.
