In my laboratory/Dungeon today I made seaweed fertilizer. I went to the oriental grocerie store and bought a pound and a half of seaweed, I put it thru a commercial paper shreder I have, I baked it at 200 degrees for ten minutes, I then turned the oven off, the seaweed sat in the oven for 45 minutes, long enough so it turned crumbly. I then crumbled it, put it in a gallon milk jug, poured in a bottle of mollases and filled to top with water. Experiment is under way, with Mr. Whoopie's guidence.

Monday, February 16 View Page
The sea 90/agri has been a total success, it did not efect the seedlings one bit, it helped, exactly what I wanted, all systems go.
Monday, February 16 View Page
This sea 90 could be quite the catch, does'nt harm the plants like they said salty ocean water would, (as long as I don't over apply it) every mineral thats in the ocean, even gold.

(fun stuff maynard)

Made hoop house, I made up the design, more of a square one. Spread gypsum, fish emulsion, seaweed, mollasses, bat guano, worm casting all over the patch, flipped every foot of the garden with a shovel, now will go over with a garden weasel.

1367 Rose is growing great, 1568 has'nt sprouted those little white roots that grow out under a leaf under the vines. they finnaly get some sun today, 1367 grew 8 inchs last night. 1367 about 1 1/2, burried vines with mycro. The 1568 is double vined, can you grow two pumpkins on it if it shoots out 2 pumpkins at once. The 1568 is just now starting to get those little white roots under the leaf stems.

Monday, June 29 View Page
1367 is growing great, burried vines today, finnaly caught up. 1568 is growing well, except the main flat vine is twisted and now has a cut crack in it. Went out and got a 1/4 more of compost to burry all the vines, still have half of 1568 to go. Its looking like a jungle.

Happy 4th of July. Working on training a side vine, and the 1568 with the flat vine to do something, growing slow, might have to work on a side vine with that one also.
Sunday, July 5 View Page
Its a new season, "season of sidevine grown pumpkins" I still want to get some great crosses out of this season.
Monday, July 6 View Page
I was thinking...its not all bad..my broken tipped 1367 main is starteing to adapt the side vine as its main, sunflower, one is 7ft. tall, the german sunflower are blooming, cherokee longear popcorn is growing great, Jala maize is growing no speed record but its growing, the 1367 is the best plant I have ever planted (o'k, this is only my 2nd year real serious at this) it has that total christmas tree shape, I have to beat it back it is growing so good, I hope the pumpkin is that way also, 1568 I should have something with dynamite genetics, 340 & 1128 whould also get me some supurb genetics also.

I decided to keep the pollinated one on the 1367, 4th vine down, the converted sidevine into main and after the main tip broke is growing to slow, as of now it is a 1367Rose x 340 Beauchemin. I have one pollinated 8ft out or so on 340 beauchemin, it is growing slow. Both the 340beauchemin and the 1128beauchemin were going to be used only for pollination and than pulled, now they will hopefully have pumpkins. No sun, temp 15 degrees below normal.

Wide open area where once the 1367 Rose & 1556 Connely were, one had a flatvine the other a snapped tip, and a bunch of aborts. The plant I have going now was grown to pollinate one of the plants that got pulled, I'm trying to give it room, moving the main vine around. It was given little room and it is doing great, I planned on pulling it after I pollinated with it, it happened the other way around.,,at this point I'll take anything.
