Its been an interesting year so far in Minnesota. We had a tough spring with lots of wind, it was really hard on my plants. I expanded the patch since last year and all of my plants are looking good. Really excited about my crosses this year.

My 1248 Ford went down due to a blossom end split a few days ago. Patched it and hope to get seeds from it. It was 36 days old and measuring 320 OTT about 700 pounds. I crossed it with the 1207 Young, which you can see in the background.

Here is a picture of the fruit grown on the 1248 Ford. Now known as the 1163 Revier 08 UOW (1248 Ford x 1207 Young). Day 58 OTT 375, so it went about 5% heavy. Even after the BES at day 36 it continued to maintain the 1400 pound benchmark rate. It was cut into pieces and weighed on a bathroom scale.

Well, I pulled the sheet back on my 985 Werner today for an inspection and found a small crack in one of the ribs. Probed it and it went throught to the cavity. Tough to see a crack in a pumpkin that is measuring larger then the state record at the end of August. Day 57 393 OTT. I will post pictures soon.

The 1065 Revier = 1041 McKie x 985 Werner (Grew 1500.5 Revier DMG) before I was about to lift and load it for Stillwater. Went 8% heavy and was the pollinator for my 1428, also took 3rd at Stillwater.

The 1500.5 Revier DMG = 985 Werner x 1207 Young (Grew the 1428 Revier) on the scales at Stillwater. Developed a soft spot and was leaking when lifted from the patch and put on the scale. Would have been fun to see what it would have weighed before it turned to liquid.

Loaded and ready for Stillwater. About 4000 pounds of pumpkins, should make for an entertaining ride on the interstate.
