594.5 Van Hook (2007) is up. It still has half of its seed coat on. Running a little behind already. But I am happy to have one up. I will keep seed coat moist so the plant can shed it easier. The cots that are exposed to the grow lights have greened up nicely overnight. The cross of the 594 is 955 Brinkley X 998 Punkos

Cold last night mid to upper 30s.Heaters on 70 degrees in hoop house. Cold and rain. Applied some calcium nitrate yesterday. 1/2 tsp to one gallon of water. Drenched the plant 12 inches away from stump. Time will tell to see how the plan reacts to the new fertilizer.

Plant today. I can see a tendril. The main vine should be starting soon. Might have to cut off cot leaf. I think its going to act as a kick stand for the plant

I went ahead and cot the front cot leaf off. It was going to hold up the main. Always feel odd cutting part of a young plant off. But hopefully it does not effect the plant at all
