When I went out to the front a driverby shooting had just happened. Three people I watched cross that intersection only moments later one was dead on my street. Mind you my patch is only a stones throw away. Growing pumpkins in Minneapolis is not easy. My car is out front and it was examined for bullet holes- I still can't get to it and its 4:30 am. C 129.5" E 81.5" S 79" OTT290" for 518 pound estimate. I have it at 28.57% heavy. Grew at the end of a 19' main in 147 sq. ft. this year (7'x21') Nice color picture doesn't do it justice. Thursday, October 14 View Page Here is our best to date - the 1422 Bogie weighed in at the SCGA/Stillwater Harvestfest 2010. This pumpkin was grown from my own 1240 Bogie of last year and went 10% heavy. This pumpkin cross is 1240xsib. The sib grew a 666 pound pumpkin in 150 sq. ft that went 28.5% heavy and was cut early for the Minnesota State Fair. Friday, October 29 View Page Here is the spot where I grew the 1422 in Minneapolis. One plant can fit in this spot and get 600 sq. ft. at best. It is shaded by the tree and two garages during the day. When I want to see a real pumpkin patch and dream, Chris is only 40 minutes away to the east. Thursday, November 18 View Page Here are my 1422 and 666 together for one last photo. They were sibbed and it's nice to see them in one shot. The stem end of 1422 was 12" thick and the 666 was very meaty with a 9" thick blossom wall!
