The 1161 Rodonis ... "LIQUID HOT MAGMA" ... Magma is a complex high-temperature fluid substance. Environments suitable for magma formation include subduction zones, continental rift zones, mid-oceanic ridges, and hotspots- especially narrow patches between a house and a road.

Met up with my buddy from the U.S. Geological Survey today, who confirmed my worst fears. Significant activity was seen today in the wheat ridge area, and he told me it was forming a classic "unibrow" pattern that was likely to last for weeks.
Luckily, there was only minimal activity near Littleton.

The 1161 was shaping up to be a pretty nice pumpkin. I think the SBS (sunken butt syndrome) pulled warm air away from the patch, which created a weather inversion that led to the late season hail.

People always ask how I grow decent sized pumpkins in such a small area. Well, a few years back when I grew my first 1000 pounder, I was taking part in a trial of new formulations of KDL. The trial was mostly comprised of farmers from the western slope fruit-producing counties of Colorado.

Its ingredients are the same as KDL: potassium (derived from mined potassium sulfate) and seaweed extract.
BUT, the big difference is that the particles are "nano" sized, and it takes advantage of the same technology as the new CO2 product.

Well, the secret is out now. I have actually been using a second formulation of KDL as well (KDL-HR). Yep, its good old KDL with 1.2% of a patented Hail Repair polymer.
I got cleaned out by a hail storm 10 days ago, but with daily applications of KDL-HR, my daily weight gains have actually improved comapred to before the storm. The only downside is that the product is expensive and cannot be diluted at all. You pour the thick contents of the whole bottle into your sprayer, and glue your leaves back together. When you're trying to break the state record, a little extra cash spent on the KDL-HR is worth every penny.

I can't remember the name of the guy on the far right, but he got real jittery every time that Joe guy talked about how much KDL he has been using. The guy on the right just kept quietly muttering "1283, 1283, 1283, 1283..." Security finally escorted him out of the meeting.
