Fast forward, Perfect summer, Lots of rain and high humidity.. Had 2 pumpkins at day 30 blowing all previous OTTs away so I kind of expected the big blow which happened on Yoda1090 named Luverne who was at a nice #479 at day 31.. Ouch, Now I have a nice compost pile going !

Weeds have overtaken the garden, Nice, Sturdy 6 foot pigweed is the dominant variety. I am wondering if we are going to enter one of these into the Fair? OTT's as of 8/11 on the remaining 4 were 297 (Day?) 286 (Day 28) and a couple stragglers. These are way ahead of last year and the stragglers are right on pace.

We have had quite a bit of crazy weather this summer.. 50 mph barely rolled the plants but took down this old hackberry.. Always a great excuse to drink beer and cut up a tree!
