Well fially 2 plants pollinated tonight after work. The Papez with the Gayle and the Gayle selfed. Only potential problem is they opened earlier today. At 615 am before leaving for work neither female was open then tonight after 12 hrs of work they were. Both were in plastic bags. The males I Picked lastnight and were in the house. Time will tell.
The female was the second on the Papez 1068 and the first on the Gayle plant. Both main vine. On both plants I have 3 on 3 distant side vines and 1 additional on each main. So I will have some to fall back on. Pics later.

Applied donocil tonight and spectracide 8/1. Less leaves affected by squash vine borers. Decrease in mildew on the Papez Plant. All main and side vines terminated. I have 2 pumpkins on the Bailey plant 1 side 1 main. This plant was the slowest to grow. On the Papez I have 3 pumpkins 2 sides and 1 main. Finally on the Gayle plant I have 1 main and 2 side vines pumpkins.
I know main pumpkins are optimal how ever the largest Gayle fruit is on a side vine it was pollinated 7/14. the rest of the other pumpkins in the patch were pollinated 7/13-7/24. Will see how they all do the next week or so.

I obtained the bench mark charts fron the GVGO site. Granted I know I am running a little late. Pollinations were7/14 for G2. 7/18 for P2 and 7/24 for B3. Now till the weigh off I have 76-80days of growing season left. Right now in the perfect patch the B3 is on a 1000-1100 lb track. The P2 is on a 700-800 lb track. The G2 is on a 1100 lb track. So based on how my late season weather and temps are will be the deciding factor as to the final size. The plants are strong. Will cont the spray program.
I bought a ton of sand yesterday for this year and next and the... I was buying bags of sand at Lowes for $3 something for 60 lbs. I bought 5 so far. The ton with taxes was 26 bucks and some cents.
I have styrofoam under the Gayle pumpkin and the Bailey pumpkin. The Papez I was concerned about stem stress it is only on sand. I do have sand under the other 2 on top of the styrofaom. The pumpkins reposion easier on the sand on top of the styrofoam than on sand only. I continue to adjust each pumpkins positon every day or every other day.

Finally got a inch of much needed rain. Applied Dunkels last night. The crack in B3 is stable no change. Does appear superficial. The spot on G2 where the leaf rubbed at the start of the season is more like a salad bowl. I have to watch that water does not stand there. Have kept a heavy coat of donacil on it. Temps dropping 49 tonight and 50's rest of the week, will cont to cover with blankets. Will post pics later this week.
