Last yr. the last week of May the wind came through and blew down the sun shades and watering system 2 days before we we to leave for Tetons, Yellowstone and beyond. At Yellowstone I had a hard time walking and thought I had pinched a nerve in my back. Came home, did meds. and physical therapy. I finally had an MRI and it showed a cyst on my spinal cord. Trip to emergency room and surgery the next day. Not a cyst but staph infection, spinal menigitis and oysteolytis. 11 days in hosp. Now it is the middle of Sept. Needless to say I didn't even get to go watch the Elk Grove weigh off. This yr. has got to be better. Monday, April 27 View Page The weather in one week has gone from 90 degrees to 70's. I picked out my seeds for this yr. and will soak them tonight. My planting area is ready to go. Tehy will go in the ground when we get the watering system fixed. It was 90 in Sacramento today. Monday, June 29 View Page It must have been at least 107 today. 2nd day of really hot weather. My pumpkins are just starting to run. Tuesday, July 21 View Page Have been on holiday. Good friend is watching pumpkins. She says I have 4 pumpkins on my plants. Wondering what the patch looks like. Wednesday, July 29 View Page Got back from a 3 wk trip to Glacier, Banff, Lake Louise and Portland. I couldn't find any pumpkins because the weeds were so high. yesterday I started pulling weeds. Today I found a "green squash" that didn't abort like the others. Still have about 4 hrs. of weed pulling to do. The watering, misting system and sun shades worked fine. Will get pictures latter this week. Saturday, August 15 View Page My pumpkins have been slow. They get to the size of a basketball and then abort. I'm afraid to cut them off and just have 2 on the vine for fear I won't have any pumpkins. Friday, October 2 View Page This year was a bust. I got 1 squash to take. 55" Cir.
