Guess it is time to start the pumpkin diary. I've put 2 flatbed loads of goat manure on the patch. I was getting ready to go get the 3rd and the tractor was low on fuel. There were 6 cans in the barn garage. I could only lift one & they all smelled the same. I got down to the neighbors driveway to get the next load of manure and the tractor stopped dead. Yes it was gasoline. After siphoning the gas and putting in diesel my husband got the tractor started. Nest time he will put in the diesel like he said he was going to. Being 62 should have some benefits.

Went and got 2 loads of manure. One for the neighbor and 1 for myself. I will unload it in the morning. It was in the 70's today but we really need some more rain. I haven't decided which seeds to plant yet.

Another load of 3yr. manure unloaded. One more to go on the pumpkin area and about 3 for the rest of the vegetables. The weather is supposed to be in the mid to upper 70's by Sun. and maybe 80. Doesn't look like we will get any more rain and we really need it.

Soaked seeds on Thur. Put them in wet paper towels. Fri. put them in starting mix. Went to check before dinner and they all germinated. Will write down names Mon. My mother in law is sleeping up stairs tonight. 7/8 seeds germinated. Started to put up shades and misting system today. Thur.-Sun to be 95-100. The pumpkins and myself don't like the hot weather.

It's still Tues. in CA. Just got back from a vacation. We went to the Tetons, Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore and Crazyhorse. We left May 22. The day before we were to leave high winds made a mess of my shades and watering system. I checked tonight and more galvanized and pvc pipes are broken. Three plants survived because a good friend came from town out to hand water. So much to do. I will try to send pics tomorrow. Plus I hurt my back while in Yellowstone. Other than that the trip was wonderful. I had never seen this part of the country before.
