My tentive line up is 1689 Jutras,1631 McKie, 772 Poirier, 662 Barker, 862 Holland, 1063 Halbert. Breana is going to grow her B.Barker 1016, and at patch #2 the Barker 998, 724 Perham, 867 Barker and my back up is the Barker768. That should be the ones to see dirt .......but stay tuned one never knows what can change
Thursday, May 1 View Page
Well not off to the greatest of starts. I had to restart a different 772 Poirier first one didnt germ and second one is up but the cots are tight together. both 1600's are up the 1689 has one big cott and one small one (not too worried) the 1631 is looking good., my 662 cotts are twisted together so just to make sure I started another one, both my 815's have come up nicely as well as my 768 and 867. the Perham 724 and Halbert 1063 are doing well also. If the poirier 772 doesn't make it (and I hope it will) I will either start my 1290 poirier or just go with one of my own that are already stared, Probably my 867 or 768.

Sunday, May 18 View Page
Well all plants are in dirt. In Breanas garden are her 1016 and my 662 and possibly my 768(not sure if there will be enough room) In the main patch will be my 867,1689 Jutras, 1631 McKie, 724 Perham, and 1063 Halbert. Will be completing all green houses monday morning. Pics forth coming

Well not holding much hope in the weather and with that my plants either all are growing but the hopes of getting something to pollinate by pollinating time seems to be slipping away. The Perham 724 and my 867 are my best growing plants and the 867 is about 4+ feet and the 724 is 3+ feet. DANG this is frustrating. I put a 150 watt grow light in the 1631's green house with hopes it will help.

Haven't been submitting any pics because..........ah yea not much to photo until lately so maybe by the weekend. Plants have certainly pick up the pace but still not near where they were at this time last year. Buried vines on the Perham 724, the Halbert 1063, and McKie 1631 and some secondaries on the 1631 also. Looked into the Perham 724 and found a female didn't look at the others to see if any where there. Plan to bury vines on the 1689, my 867 on thurs the 19th and Breana will be doing the same on her 1016 also. I pulled my 768 plant and my do the same with my 662

Well All I have to say is thank goodness we have finally had more than just two days of sun and the future looks bright from mid 70's to mid 80's for at least the next 7+ days. finally started taking green houses down. All be it only 7 1/2 ft out I will be pollinating my 867 probably thurs, or Fri. Not much pollen to choose from though. 1631 has a couple males about ready.
Saturday, June 28 View Page

Monday, July 7 View Page
1631 McKie set one on a secondary just for the cross and will let the pumpkin grow souly off the secondary vine after I know it has taken and is about 15 -20 days along. the main set should be weds. or thurs.
Monday, July 7 View Page
Oh yea the 1631 was crossed with the 1423.5 Wallace
Monday, July 7 View Page
724 Perham was set on 7/2 and was crossed with the Barker 867. As you can see another isnt too far away.

set another on the 724 Perham on Weds. crossed it with 1100 Hester (thanks Stan). The 1063 Halbert will have one for Thurs. as well as Breanas 1016. The 1689 should be friday. Not sure what the deal is on the 1631 main is. They females have been out for awhile but not to size for opening...........hmmmm. Any ideas?
Thursday, July 17 View Page
pollinated a second pumpkin on the 1689 (1631) 6 lobes so it may be my keeper but with it being a late set I'm not sure
Friday, July 25 View Page
NTS: culls all done, 724 perham is at 58+" circ @ day 22, 1063 Halbert is at approx. 41" circ. @ day 17, 867 Barker is at approx 53" circ. at day I think 19, culled the first sets on the 1631 and 1689 both second set look alot better. The pumpkin set on the secondary of the 1631 is a more vibrinat orange color and is now growing off the secondary only and the secondary is not dead headed in order to give the pumpkin as much as possible. Hope it works. At any rate it is a real nice cross 1631 McKie with the 1423.5 Wallace

1631 McKie this is the second of the 2 pumpkins that opened and pollinated on the same day. I had 3 sets at each leaf axil. Yes both 1600#ers were crossed. It is @ about 15 days. dont have pollenation dates in front of me so thats why they are approximately........ days old.

I have recently lost my mother in law earlier this month rather unexpectedly. She was so supportive of Breana and I growing these giants and was extremely excited about Breanas accomplishments last year. I have also lost 2 uncles this year also. So as one can imagine I have dedicated my season to them. Hopefully I can do them justice.

...because of the loss of a family pet,2 uncles an aunt and a very, very dear mother-in-law with in the last 7 months I have dedicated this season to them. I was extremely happy not only because I finished 3rd but a personal best along with it made seem as though I had done them justice. Also I give thanks to our lord Jesus Christ for giving me strength to do so.
