Here's a pumpkin pattern I come up with to see how it will work,, ''Im gonna name it the ''Boz Pattern'',,lol. Im going to try and get a pumpkin set off a secondary and have most of the vines that will be coming off the secondary run before I do a pollination off a pattern like this. Not sure if I will be able to have enough time to pollinate a pumpkin with a pattern like this before July 1st but Im sure going to try. But it looks like its going to be something exciting to try to see what happens.

Its not looking good for my 991 Urena seed, the first true leaf is ok but I can see 5 or 6 tiny ,small leaves leaves growing all the same size out of the center of the seedling, and this is not usually a good sign at all because at the 2nd true leaf stage you should only see the one leaf growing instead of 5 or 6 starting thats all the same size. Its a really weird looking plant so far and something I have never seen before (as far as that many leaves growing). Im hoping it grows out of it, but at this point it looks like its on its way to double vining or flat vining on me , just gotta keep my fingers crossed on this seedling.

Every year for the past 3 to 4 years I just have to grow Ron Rahe's one of a kind cross's he comes up with. They sure are fun to grow because you never know what your going to end up with at the end of the season, plus he seems to always do his cross's with a Bosworth seed,,lol. I have a few other of Rons unusual cross's going this year including his 4.1 Rahe 09' (Tetsukabuto x 678 Bosworth) I also planted a 31 Beacher 09' (Galeux d Eysiness x 711 Bosworth).

1161 Rodonis x (1450 Wallace) cross done today for Eddy the Iceman Zaychkowsky!! Tomorrow will be the second pollination and the reverse cross for a 1450 Wallace (1161 Rodonis). Eddy sent me the 1450 to grow for him because of his lack of time to grow this year because of his work, he wanted this cross done for some seeds for himself and to give out to other growers next year, So if all goes well you will know where to find this seed cross to grow next year!(I also have two back up cross's done of the 1450 x 1725 Harp also as back up just in case the others dont take on that plant) Eddy, Thanks a MILLION for asking me to grow this 1450 Seed!,,how could I turn down growing a 1450 Wallace,,huh?,,ha!!, And cant forget this guy and this gal,, Bill Rodonis and his wife Linda!,, thanks for another chance at the 1161 seed! I know you didnt have very many of those seeds to spare and your supply is starting to run really short on that seed but you give me one to grow anyway,, thank you Bill and Linda for the seed! Without question two of the nicest people growing out there today that would do anything for anyone if they could. ( I think Linda might have twisted Bill's arm a little to give me a 1161 seed by putting Bill's arm in a camora and then switching over to another move as fast as lighting to apply a choke called the head triangle to Bill's head and neck to almost shut his airway off just for him to give me seed,,, but it worked!!! (Not kidding about this, very true story,, neighbors seen this happen in his front yard) But very nice job on the UFC fighting moves Linda!!,,where you learn to fight like that anyway? Cause my ole buddy Bill is definitely no slouch and no one to mess with! you guys seen the size of this man!!,,, But at any rate,, thanks Linda and Bill!!,,Baaaa HaHaHa Haaaaaaa!!)

Im not sure if these measurements will keep up the pace but I sure hope so, I have 3 pumpkins at the 25 day mark that are 12 to 10 inches bigger CC and one pumpkin just a few inches behind then what my 1402 pumpkin was at the 25 day mark that was grown off the 1068 Wallace. Last year my measurements was the same way for me with some really big 20 to 30 day measurements and then Mr Foamy shows his ugly head to where I end up growing the pumpkins out the rest of the season on no stump and half a plant. Im really crossing my fingers that it doesnt happen this year again, cause I think the faster and the bigger these pumpkins grow before day 20 to 40 the more water/energy it has going through the stump, main and secondaries to the pumpkin which In my personal opinion think might cause a problem to where its to much for the plant to handle at one time and something gives. If I can get past the 40 day mark with out Mr Foamy showing up, I think I might have a chance with a pumpkin or two with this years measurements so far. My 3 biggest pumpkins and my oldest so far that are at the 25 day mark is my 1385 Jutras, 991 Urena and my 1450 Wallace. My 998 pukos is just a few inches behind, But all 4 are growing like champs, even with a little stump problem that showed up 5 days ago on the 991 Urena, its surprisingly still keeping up the pace. I still have more plants that haven't reached that 25 day mark yet, but so far so good besides the boo-koo aborts I been having this hot humid summer.

This is a picture for a good Ohio buddy of mine and a little advertisement for a guy living in NY, Tom P,,,lol who for both of these guys I haven't talked to for a while, Dave Rumancik from Ohio gave me this hard to find 991 Urena seed , and so far so good at day 29 at 129 inches CC, DAVE! its going to kill all my other 30 day measurements by tomorrow and its by far the best I have ever had growing at the 30 day mark. I know things can chance in a matter of seconds, so I dont want to get my hopes up just yet on the 991, its still kinda early yet to be hoop-N-hollering!!,ha!. Im Putting this pic up in my diary that I took with my cell phone this morning, hopefully it works and goes into my diary. I been trying to email a couple of my close growing buddies that I dont think are getting through, yahoo has been notified by me 2 days ago and Im still waiting for a reply to fix the problem. I can get emails but for some reason cant send the response back out, a few get through but most dont. Im thinking of getting a hot mail email to see if that works for now.

Here is a 09 cross I did last year off a Rahe Triamble squash( his green lobe) x One two many Im only 99 % positive this is the result, but will have to grow the seed again next year to be 100 % sure, because all my smaller crazy cross's I grew this year the ink washed off on everything I labeled that I grew, so not sure of anything on what is what that is growing and which of my cross's it came from,,lol. I will find out next year when I grow the 09 seed again to be 100 positive though, Picture of a Bosworth 09 'green'' one two many pumpkin here in the picture. If you look at a regular one two many pumpkin they will start out yellowish and then turn pinkish to give you that pink blood shot eye effect, on mine they are green.

1385 Jutras day 40,, This has a chance to hit 1200 or 1300 lbs, but if I was a betting man I would keep my money in my pocket and not bet on it, you just never know about the 1385's cause they do go heavy a lot. This sure is a pretty orange for a 1385 Jutras, I crossed this one with the 1725 Harp.

998 Pukos, 40 days(ish), this one is a tall one, I have always wanted to grow one with this type wagon wheel shape to it.

here is a regular ''one two many'' pinkish pumpkin from a seed Nana Rea sent me last year And the green ''one two many Boz Cross'' is what I ended up with this year, but to be truthful, I never expected it to turn green like it did, but I like it, sure is neat looking.

here is about 3/4 of the small stuff I grew this year, Phat Albert's pumpkins, One Two Many/Cinderella cross pumpkin that I did last year, Rahe pumpkins and cross's, all different kinds of gourds ,Indian corn, and alot of other things I'm forgetting.

1385 Jutras, Its not a very big pumpkin but the color is really something. I dont think the seeds from this pumpkin will produce this orange color because it was crossed with the 1725 Harp. All the 1725's that I have seen, including my own have had a yellowish color, but orange isn't what I was going for, 'BIG' is what I wanted and hopefully by crossing the 1385 x 1725 (1385 x self) Ill keep the genes going on this 1385 growing big Or even bigger pumpkins.

977 Bosworth 2010 (1385 Jutras x 1725 Harp)18%Heavy She sure is pretty isn't she Jimmy?,,ha! Everyone kept asking me Including my wife if I put something on that pumpkin to make it shine like that,, and the answer is definitely NO,,LOL. Only thing I put on it before the weigh off is bleach and water and she shined right up.

Here is my big one that got away this year on Aug 31st, 1103 Bosworth '10 DMG ( 1450 Wallace x 1161 Rodonis) It was one of the fastest growers I had this year that could have had a chance of being a really big pumpkin. It measured 364 Ott Aug 31st which made it 9% Heavy. It ended up with a small pin hole in the rib line. And by looking at the picture you will see alot of rib lines in that pumpkin!,,ha! Each leaf node had a total of 4 roots growing from it, 2 at the top of the vine and 2 at the bottom of the main vine , and the Secondaries also the same way. Ive seen this happen before on a few plants on a node here and there , but never have I seen a root system grow like this 1450 produced. Im just praying it carries over these genes!,,lol

1103 Bosworth 10'dmg (1450 x 1161),, no denying this pumpkin doesnt have that Wallace snout! (and a few rib lines EVERYWHERE!,,,,lol)

1011 Bosworth 10' (1161 Rodonis x 1450 Wallace)349 0TT 12% Heavy. This was the latest pollination I have ever had, the 1161 was pollinated July 29th. My biggest problem was getting plants to pollinate this year, and alot of them never produced a pumpkin in time and was pulled. It had to be because of the HOT humid and no rain in July is what Im thinking? This 1011 pumpkin, my 977, 1144 and 935 is is being carved by Dave Shula from Weirton WV.

1144 Bosworth 10'(991 Urena x 1450 Wallace). Im definitely growing this 1144 seed next year, I just have to knowing what the root system was like on the 1450 plant, if I can get a root system like this on every plant I grow, then look out Chris, im taking that record next year!,,,,haaaa!,,NOT Thanks Dave Rumancik for the seed!,, I just know I can grow this 991 seed way bigger, but finding another seed might be a bit of a tiny problem this year and next because everyone wants one or has one they wont part with because they plan on growing it!,,ha!,,, This 991 plant is at the top of my lists of as one of my favorite plants to grow.

Last but not least, a pumpkin I grew this year off my 183 Bosworth 07'(55 Rahe x 748 Pukos) The 55 Rahe is a Cinderella pumpkin x 1238.5 Burst 2005

1011 Bosworth 10' (1161 X 1450) I Know this wasnt a huge pumpkin but the cross is a great one, and the pollinator 1450 was like no other plant I have ever grown before, and I wouldn't be making a big fuss over it if it wasnt for the 1450 Pollinator plant. I think a pumpkin seed like this with a very low 11 seed count makes it kinda a special seed for growers to grow and take a chance on. but and it dont surprise me at all with the very low 11 seed count this pumpkin had, espically with how many aborts I had on this plant to then finally get one pollinated at the very end of July. No rain and the highest heat and humidity temps in July that I can EVER remember. I normally dont talk my own seeds up(Well,,, that much,,lol) and its usually always someone else's seeds that catch my eye that I end up blurting out on the boards then the seeds are gone in no time flat by the time I ask for one it seems like,,lol If your seriously want to grow this seed next year OR maybe for a your club auction, Contact Eddy Z, All seeds are his but 3 out of the 1011, the rest of the 8 seeds will go directly to him to do with what he wants, Eddy is the one who give me the 1450 Wallace to grow and to do this cross for him this year, and trust me when I say this AGAIN,,LOL,, that 1450 was a beast, even pap and Ron Wallace thought this pumpkin was going to be something special, that 1450 was the fastest growing pumpkin I have ever had,,,, EVER! The 4 root system at each node is what really made that 1450 pumpkin grow like it did, like something I have never ever seen before! I will only be keeping 3 seeds for myself that will all be given out , one will go into the Barnesville seed auction in Feb, one will definitely go to Joe Ailts and Chris Stevens for their club if they are interested in this seed , and the other seed will go to Al Gibson / Dave (Venari) for the OVGPG Auction

From left to right, Here is a picture that made the Weirton WV newspaper , its my 1144,977,1011 and my 935 pumpkins sitting in front of Dave Shuler's house in Weirton WV and looks GREAT I think!. Dave has the pumpkin bug addiction of craving pumpkins worse then I have the addiction of growing them,,,well,,, almost as much as me,lol,, Dave carves these pumpkins for the kids to enjoy in his town, and we have became great friends through this hobby, a really nice guy that would do anything for anyone.
