Here's a photo showing some of the people that came to look at the display. At times, there were 250 to 300 people at one time. We estimate that more than 10,000 came to see the display this year.

The displays have progressively gotten larger over the years. I doubt they will grow beyond 50 pumpkins, though.

Here's a back drop of the dwarves cottage that my father built for the display. Though it's hard to make out, the pumpkin in the lower left-hand corner is an axe in a tree stump.

Next year, we'll probably cut back on the number of pumpkins displayed, because the time involved in putting such a large display together.

I'm glad that I have such an artistic family to draw and carve the designs in the pumpkins. If I had done the art work, it would have consisted of stick figures.

Here is the Barenie family 2006 pumpkin display. Cinderella was this year's theme. After growing an 1136 pound pumpkin in 2004, the 2005 and 2006 seasons have been disappointing. This year's bigest pumpkin that I've grown was only 691 Lbs, and my parent's largest this year was 770 Lbs. I've put a lot of proven seeds to shame, but hope to have created some seeds with good genetic crosses.
