I guess it's time to type a diary entry. Here are the fruit I have going now. 1290 Bowles x 1180 Pukos Day 12 37" 1408 Daletas x 1290 Bowles, Day 11 28" 1186 Bowles x 1290 Poirier, Day 12 30" 1180 Pukos x 1556 Werner, Day 11 27" 1556 Werner x 1408 Daletas, Day 16 52" 1290 Poirier x 1186 Bowles, Day 16 57.5" We have been getting a good amount of rain, and the temps have been fairly good. I'm trying some new ideas with vine prunning this year, and plan to water and foliar feed more than I have in the past.

Just got in from the patch, time to type in a few numbers quick. ...1180 Pukos day 18, 59"...1556 Werner, day 23, 84.5"...1186 Bowles, day 19, 64"...1290 Poirier, day 23, 90"...1408 Daletas, day 18, 61.5"...1290 Bowles, day 19,69"...So far I'm happy the way things are growing, getting some nice measurements. The 1290 Poirier is just an absolute beauty, the only flaw on it is where a bird took a little peck out of it while it was small. The 1290 P was pollinated with the 1186 Bowles, so the seeds in this one should be great for big and orange. The 1290 Bowles is doing a very nice pace as well, thanks Dan, glad I took your advice on this one.

1186 Bowles. Pollinated with the 1290 Poirier. Day 26, 94" cir. This is a bit interesting, the main vine flipped over in a storm, and the female flower actually is twisted under the vine. It actually started on the other side of the vine from where it is now. I had to go with it since there was nothing near ready on the main and this one was pollinated on July 9. It started out at only 21" on day ten, but is making nice steady gains now.

1556 Werner. Crossed with 1408 Daletas. Day 30, 110" cir. 67.5 ee - 65.5 ss. Ott 243, est 310 lbs. So far things are looking pretty good here. I'm happy with the way all 6 pumpkins in the patch are growing, no slackers. The key now is to keep them growing and not stall out. Gonna push 'em this summer.
