Saturday, April 4 View Page Rented a tractor with a tiller today, the patch is tilled and ready to go. I will put up cold frames to start heating it up inside. Saturday, April 11 View Page Started pumpkin seeds today. My husband is growing the 1040 Larue. I am growing 5 plants, they are the 1349 Sherwood, 919 Richards, 1044.5 Larue, 1388 Larue, and the 1112 Larue. I am putting the plastic on hoop houses today, when the seeds are up, they will go into their new homes under the hoops. Its only a light dusting at the moment.My 919 Richards has germinated, as well as Joes 1040 Larue. Sunday, April 19 View Page Finally was able to pick up the new trailer last friday, this will make camping fun. Saturday, April 25 View Page So far all plants are going good, the 919 Richards is getting its 2nd leaf. My line up for the season after the first batch fried is set to, 1112, 1040, 950 La Rue, 1468, 919 Richards and the 275 van hook. The 919, 1040 LaRue was started April 11th, then the 1112, 950, 275 on April 16th. The 1468 Richards was started April 18th and is already ahead of the ones started the 16th. Sunday, April 26 View Page All plants are in the ground in the hoop houses. Sunday, May 3 View Page All plants are looking good, my 950 La Rue is very leggy for some reason. Monday, May 11 View Page I have been sad , my mom phoned me last monday morning to tell me that my uncle died. He went in for a simple knee surgery and died from a blood clot to his lung. I havent been myself all week. I am sorry Kenny Sunday, May 17 View Page Gave the plants some miracle grow, in a low dose, then used systemic on them. Today they are looking good, even though the weather is very hot. Temps have been in the high 90's Tuesday, May 19 View Page Been a crappy few days here. My husband is back in the hospital and I dont know when he will come home. I was hoping from support from a friend, but it wont be coming. Thursday, May 21 View Page Good news, they are releasing Joe from the hospital tomorrow. Wednesday, June 3 View Page Had some heavy winds and rain this afternoon and evening. We had flood warnings through most of the evening. The rains have stopped and the wind has gone. Went out with a flash light and everything looked good. The plants are looking good. The 919 Richards was started April 11th and the 275 van Hook and 1468 Richards were started on April 16th. Both have almost caught up with the 919. Monday, June 15 View Page Finally got my computer running again. Plants are doing good, I found an open pollination on my 919 richards this morning, its only at about 12 ft so I wont keep it. I have another that will open at about 15 ft and I will do that for a keeper. All plants look good, am worried about the 1468 Richards, we had some heavy winds and rain and I noticed that the plant was rolled, I am hoping I can fix it. Thursday, July 30 View Page This is how hot Grants Pass got today, its no wonder, with weather like this, why I cant get the plants to grow without burning. I have to leave the misters on all the time. I sure could use some rain about now, does anyone want to trade me some rain lol Sunday, August 2 View Page My season is over. Pumpkins have stopped growing and are turning soft. I wonder if the extreme heat we have been getting is what has made this a tough season. There is always next year.
