My 587 Dill project has not gone well. Lost 2 pollinations and now it looks like I will only be getting males from it.
The pumpkin sets were round and had good stem size.

I missed the 1st 2 pollinations on my 583 Young plant. I was able to pollinate the 3rd one with 587 Dill.
Pumpkin sets are round with a very short stem. I will have to terminate the vine the pumpkin is set on.

The gunky looking part where the hole is is where the stem attached to the vine. The bumpy white part on the left is where the stem kept tearing and healing. At some point a white fungus entered into the stem despite painting it with daconil and running a fan 24 hrs a day.
Up until yesterday the stem and vine looked normal on the outside. But I discovered the inside had turned to mush.

Here is the 853 Rahe 2009.
estimated at 907 lbs on day 55 when it was harvested due to stem rot issues.
Was on track for a personal best.
Still weighed 853 on Oct. 3rd after sitting around for 5 weeks.

I would expect the progeny would go about 60 lbs and be light orange and round. A second outcross could produce far larger specimens. This is the cross for you if you want to tinker with adding disease resistance to C. maxima
