Soil cables installed. Also added some pro mix to the pit to loosen it up. After 12" it's all clay so I didn't go past that point

One of my three hoops has been planted. Now I'm boarding a plane to Japan for work. First trip of many this growing year. Gonna be a tricky year for me. We will just have to see how it goes.

Season catch up video. I have one of three pollinated already. The rest next week I think. All plants looking really good so far. Jim's 2177 is the "longest". My 2465 is the biggest. The 2560 Gienger is the most dense.

2465 Dawson x 2177 Ford. Day 22. Estimating a puny 67 pounds. My 2465 was only 66 lbs on Day 20 so there is still hope. It's also gaining about 9" a day which seems pretty good. Looks like the shape of its father and the color of its mother. I wanted the inverse.

2177 Ford x 2560 Gienger. Day 18. I don't like the shape or texture at the back. I'm considering a late pollination to replace it. I'll post another picture of the back.

I'm not really worried about whether the pollination took or not but more that the shape is unlikely to produce anything worthwhile. Any thoughts on this shrunken, bumpy look here?

I talked to Leonardo Urena today. He made me feel better about my slow pumpkin growth so far. We grow about 45 minutes from each other and have both been dealing with a very cool growing year. Last year was great for us and we both had big PBs. After we complained about the weather for a while he reminded me not to slow down as things could turn around still. On the positive side, plants are doing great!

2177 Ford on a secondary, DAP 13. If I take this one to HMB I could still get 99 days out of it. I culled the original keeper. It had turned into a shriveled butt pear thing. This one has a nice shape and the biggest plant in my patch.
