150sqft patch ready to go, compost topped up, ferts applied & soil cable tested. Intending to grow my 951 (dmg) which will be the 4th successive generation in 150sqft.
756, 934, 951....improving each season; maybe this will be the year I break the 1000 barrier?

150sqft. Carefully managing the 90° bend, there is a female at about 14ft, so that will be the target for a set in around week. Hot sunny weather, so everything is growing fast.

1490 Leach AG, the vine burying is starting to become a challenge; almost frightening how quickly the vines are now growing.
Discovered a small infestation of blackfly and a few mildew spots, so liberally sprayed all the plants in the patch with fungicide & insecticide.

Frankenstein flowers!
These are on one of my squash plants, top photo was taken on 5th July, when I noticed some of the male flowers were producing pollen over the entire petal surface, and hadn't withered despite being a week old.
The bottom photo is 25 days later, and still the flowers haven't fully faded.
Around half the male flowers on the plant are exhibiting this "immortality"
Quite extraordinary.

1st one of the season, had to pick it early as the plant fell over and bruised the fruit... luckily it didn't break the skin.
3.15 lbs off the 6.85 Doug Smith (Big Zac)
Nice to get something to the scale after terrible BER problem.

1st place at Malvern, 1403 lbs, off my 951 Leach 2022 (dmg). Lot of entries, and the weights had improved too. No issues with this plant, I'll probably grow the offspring next season.
