I’ve never grown pumpkins before…..or anything else for that matter!! (With exception of Chilli's in containers and a few tomato’s!) Having recently moved to a wonderful property with an old overgrown allotment in the garden, we've gone all out and restored It! We’ve split it into 1 meter wide plots and filled almost all of them with something tasty!! My priority is the pumpkin patch!! I’ve always fancied growing them but never had the space before. I Plan to take the biggest and most beautiful for my gorgeous Cream Burmese Kandikat Leo who sadly passed away in March this year :’( I purchased Jack O’ Lantern Gourd (number 55245 I think?) with a view to carving them at Halloween although depending on how many we get, roasting may be an option too! Seeds in the heated propagator ... Wish me luck!

Seedlings getting big and looking good - 8 of the 12 planted germinated : ) Weather is starting to get much milder so will plant out soon, probably end of May or when the rain stops!

Pumpkin Patch Plotted, dug Out & manured! The seed packet advised to plant only 90cm apart....doesn't seem much space in comparison with how much many of you have allotted for ... maybe you are all growing Giants and mine are going to be really small!?

Back filled the holes today & created mounds/hills that I hear are beneficial to assist in healthy growing - haven't really been able to find any pictures of what they are supposed to look like but these are mine : )
