3rd day in starter mix with mycorrhizea...is this white fuzz damping off? Air temps at 80-83 degrees. Squeezed all drops of water out of starting mix. A little bothered if this is damping off disease. Added a warming lamp to dry the surface further.

I'm terrible at updating this thing. Anyway, here is the 1704 Urena (2011) ::Female 991 Urena, Male 1468 Stevens:: I've got a female at ~13 ft may be ready to open her flower next week.

Here is the 1704 selfed with 6 males. Rubber banded and covered with a styrofoam cup. Ice placed next to the 'kin...it "only" got to 90 here today so hopefully all is well. However, I am a bit behind the 8-ball though with only 76 days till weigh off. Still a few days until other 'kins and backups are pollinated.

Here is the 1704 selfed on the main after day 2. Does this look normal? I'm a little concerned. If this one does not abort my 4 year old has informed me that it shall be called "Peter Pan"

Very very wet here. Still managed to pollinate my first female on the 1360 Urena Dmg with males from the 1704 Urena. This one is only 8-9 ft out but there is another one that will open next week a few feet further down.

This is probably a big problem...maybe pythium? Is it at all possible that this is from Myco? Doubt it.

White fungus showed up in the patch from the 7 straight days of rain.

Second fruit self pollinated on the 1704 10 days behind the first which appears to be growing at an acceptable rate. Nice looking 5 Lober but position is a little odd in the patch. Used 5 males.

The three "California Girls" on the 1360 Urena.
Tuesday, July 24 View Page
Got down in the patch to look at the girls and smelled something a little "off"...upon inspection there was a bunch of rot around the stump. I cut out an entire secondary..(it was only 5 ft.) also cut several leaves and dug out all signs of rot and sulfured the stump to dry it out.

Got to the patch this evening and saw a few leaves completely laid over...this is the last time the three California girls will be hanging out on the same vine together

here is the end of the 1360's main vine before the final cut
Thursday, July 26 View Page
I went ahead and cut 2 of the California girls loose...and then cut the vine open looking for an SVB grub....nothing...already exited??? or is this just a disease?...haven't seen a single SVB in my patch this year...

Wednesday, August 15 View Page
Tried a new 1704 Urena x self pollination today after shocking this plant. It has finally started putting out females again. Just hoping to get one to keep the genetics line.

Had some stem splitting on Mutt today. Slit it a little more going away from the pumpkin to relieve stress. It doesn't go into the cavity, so we'll see if it stays together.
Friday, August 17 View Page
Stem split on Mutt. Probed it and its not into the cavity. I split the stem a little further down the stem side to relieve stress. Hopefully this will heal over nicely and not rip itself from the vine.
Tuesday, August 21 View Page
This was Mutt yesterday 30 DAP 204 OTT. Really not gonna be big.

RIP Mutt stem split went into the cavity...it is now becoming a pile of mush
