MARBLES....I started gardening here at this house 30 years ago.Uncovered the original garden and have expanded ever since.The first year I uncovered the original garden I found a slew of marbles.Every year since, for 30 years, I continue to find marbles.Pretty amazing.You would think after 30 years that I would have found them all.But no....every year I find a couple.

Gardens were ready to go months ago.Pumpkins planted April 17.Trying mostly my own seeds this year.We have some 1634 Werner offspring,1596 Werner offspring,993 Aten offspring.A 928 Box seed and a 988 Janowiak seed.Thank you again Andy and George for the seeds.

Sunflower.Half of my sunflowers were broken in half by the storm on June 29.They were over 15 feet tall.The winds here snapped 3 large trees in my yard and blew the shingles off the roof.Very lucky all it destroyed in the garden was some sunlowers.

AG pumpkins did not do good this year.Terrible time getting pollinations.Lots of salad but no pumpkins.The pumpkins I did get all rotted at about 200 pounds.I guess too mant hot days here.Many days over 100 degrees.85 degree nights.This was by far the hottest summer ever on record here.Many insects too, even with a spraying routine.

I did get 4 AG's to pollinate the first week of August though, so I hope to get something.The weather cooled off and I have 4 pumpkins on 3 plants, all on side vines.Seem to be growing ok now since the temperatures have changed.
