In case anybody was wondering, I'm still here. I have a busy summer ahead of me (starting with spending a week in England in June), so I really have to keep my gardens low-key this year. I still hope to grow at least two competition plants. Amendments to my competition patch since last fall have been minimal due to a lack of time mostly, but I guess it's good to let it sit for a while after a few seasons of additions. Spring is right around the corner!

3" of snow this morning, looking like it could be one of the last snowfalls of the season. The ground never really froze up this year, so I hope to take soil tests in the next week for my competition and primary eating gardens. Installing a slightly more practical irrigation system in my competition patch this year. As of now, I think I'm going to grow three plants, the 1556 Rodonis, 275 Van Hook, and 800* Neily, to leave room for field pumpkins, long gourds, and some giant melons.
