I have modified last years hoop house design...it was too tall as I found it hard to keep warm at night.
This year I have lowered the height, made the door smaller and will use the auto vent openers from Lee Valley on my windows again.
I have two more to build and then put the plastic on all of them.

Well it's been 2 weeks since planting out the 1370 Rose (foreground) and the 1385 Jutras (right).....and all is going according to plan so far. The 901 Hunt was planted out May 5th and is a bit slower, but very healthy and growing well!!
I have removed blue insulation from 1370 and 1385 as roots had reached the edge and started growing down. Worked very well, kept soil temp warmer than last year without.
Stellar weather here in Ontario yesterday and forecast for this week, so opening the hoops has been the order of the day. Clips on conduit are working great...thanks Chris!!

Well hard to believe a month of the season is now gone.....but it is....and I'm happy to report all is growing well here....a few minor human errors...but that's growing and learning...
This is the star of my patch....it has been a pleasure to watch this plant grow...now laying down and starting to run, sitting out just over 2 feet, with secondaries starting to push out.....

For the end of May...things are going very well here in Ontario...
Hot and dry weather has brought on the need of shade netting very quickly....very High UV has scorched some leaves....note to self....shade netting early in the game on extremely important!!
1370 Rose is sitting out 7 ft now with first secondaries at 3 ft...
1385 Jutras a little behind but doing good...
901 Hunt received the worst of the sun damage today.....but it is doing well none the less....
Worked on my new irrigation for my patch this weekend and it is working amazing!!! .....plant 1 of 3 done...
Team Lunatic is picking up speed and growing in numbers....welcome aboard all new and crazy growers....Makka Pakka mascots should be arriving in Lunatic central shortly and will be forwarded as time permits .....

All hoop houses off and two of my three plants have new irrigation up and running, one more to go. 1370 on the right is still leading the pack, 901 on the left was started a week behind and is looking good. 1385 had a setback on Sunday when I woke to a foot of the main lying on the ground, looked like a raccoon had been digging for something and broke it right off....aarrrrgghhhh!!!

Well there's the Roof shot, the Stump shot, the Top of the Hill shot.....and now.....the Top of the Tree Fort shot....
Things have slowed down a little here in Udora...treated plants twice with Serenade to control that white tip fungus I had last year...which slowed the growth..as well as cool wet weather lately...
All in all I'm still in good shape....ahead of last year... and will likely have first pollination on the 1370 in about a week.....(on the right) 901 in about 10 days...(on the left) and the 1385 I will give at least an extra week to try and get the new main out a bit further...

It was a very successful 2010 for AG's....with a new PB set!! The Lunatic movement has made great strides in it's first year of inception. My first year growing LG's was amazing, cabbages were okay, tomatoes not good at all and garlic....well... worst year ever, but 2011 holds much promise. Looking forward to the new year with Giant Cabbage starting in a week or so...then the deciding what to plant.....
Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year...all the best to you in your patch in 2011...
And a special shout out to all my Lunatic teammates.....we gonna kick some serious butt next year!!!!
