Wednesday, January 1 View Page This year’s offseason improvement project was adding sand to the patch to help with drainage.   Thursday, January 2 View Page I spread five tons of sand over the entire patch. The thickness was about two inches over my 1300 sqft patch.   Friday, January 3 View Page I tilled it in and planted a cover crop of winter rye, winter peas, and tillage radish. Tilled everything in a few weeks ago and sent out a soil test. My pH is much higher than last year so the sand might have been very alkaline.   Friday, April 25 View Page Plastic is on the patch and seeds were started today.
