Thursday, May 9 View Page Cat bird waiting for the insects to appear. These and many others chow down on many garden pests. I encourage birds at the cost of a few damaged leaves. Thursday, May 9 View Page I have a very healthy 1743 Chan ready to go in this weekend when the weather takes a turn for the better. In the past I had plants in the ground by May 1st no matter what. Trying a different approach. The 1743 is fully hardened off but hasn't experienced the stress of being transplanted in cold soil. Friday, July 12 View Page This is one unhappy plant. We received 5 inches of rain and half the plant was submerged this morning. We'll see if it makes it. On the flip side my 1728 Chan is doing great in the greenhouse.
