Here is my lineup for 2012. I may throw another seed or 2 into it before the season starts. Looking forward to going down to Las Vegas at the end of February. 2012 is starting off alright.
Wednesday, January 4 View Page
Well I started the year off going up to Faith Farm. To check out what's going on at Manure Mans place. He is going to Vegas.
Wednesday, January 4 View Page
I checked out their new horse trainer helper that he built for help with the big draft horses. They Have 1 draft horse already (titan). And they have a new horse coming that they just got that's even bigger.

Although life's road may be bumpy and cold, windy and uphill, with viscous animals and strange creatures along the way... I still believe in going all in. Leaving it all on the table. Playing to win every year. Taking no shortcuts and cutting no corners. Because around every bend in the road there is a bigger pumpkin. So I still... Drive Fast and Take Chances.
Wednesday, January 4 View Page
I plan on crossing the 1421 Stelts with the 1272 Barker and also the reverse cross. Probably will plant them back 2 back and use a slightly modified greenhouse setup this year. Also, I will plant my 1031 and my 1028.5 back to back. And I believe that my 1087.5 will also see dirt this year.
Monday, January 16 View Page
Well I especially miss my buddy Zoos this year. He passed away from cancer last year.
Monday, January 16 View Page
I want to thank Peace Wayne for the seeds, and I am sure that Zoos would be happy to run over and eat any of these plants that I grow with these this season. Lol

I think that Manure Man can be a borderline All-Star next season with the right patch prep and beaver control. When the Seeds are in his hands, he has the potential to put up big #'s. Here is his 825 Venters 09 (895 Grande x 1184 Barker). A seed from this pumpkin won at Nick's weigh-off last year. Even with all off Manure Mans bologna, every once in a while he actually gets something right. (I rammed that pumpkin with the kubota blade, drug it out of the patch, Then dropped it 4 feet onto gravel, and it still made it to weigh-off! Dang)
Tuesday, February 21 View Page
The 825 Venters had a nice stem and was an all-green vined plant, with a large stump.
Wednesday, March 7 View Page
Went to Vegas, rocked it, here's the view from my room. LINEUP CHANGE!

Here is a picture of the nice 1,000 lbs. milestone medal that the club gave me. 3 years in a row with a 1,000 lbs. + pumpkin... But also 2 seasons gone by without a new PB... But not time wasted.. I have learned to adapt and be more open minded about other growers growing philosophy's... I am trying to ^ my pumpkin weight while also diving into other giant vegetables such as cabbage and Long gourds.
Tuesday, March 13 View Page
Here is my Long Gourd lineup! Thank you to the Martins for the seeds. Now I have to build a big structure like Northwest Rain.
Wednesday, March 14 View Page
Now my mission iz 2 use all of my new 4x4 fence posts that are concreted and consruct a GIGANTIC BIG 'OLE HUGE MASSIVE TRELLIS... to plant long gourds.
Tuesday, March 27 View Page
Well, The Quiz and Josh the Manure Man are all upset about the weather... i've been thinking about it too. The other morning I woke up to my co2 censor going nuts. It turns out that my co2 levels had gotten dangerously high. So, I went out of my my room, which is inside of my biodome and adjusted the levels on the plants down to the %20 atmospheric level. Don't worry Quiz nuthin's pollinated yet, but the plants are all vined out 6 feet+.
Tuesday, March 27 View Page
I sent in my tissue sample the other day from the 1272 Barker plant and these were the results...
Tuesday, March 27 View Page
I thought the results were kind of rough. But basically when it comes down to it... My plants and soil are perfect and I am the one that needs the adjust. Here's a picture of me from the off season... Can't grow pumpkins in the winter , so I have other hobbies... I cut off the beard so Neal can't say I look like the unibomber anymore. Lol

I am the luckiest Pumpkin Grower alive. In 2010 I was interviewed by Brendon Borrell in my own patch for his article in SMITHSONIAN MAGAZINE. Last year I had the honor and privledge of having former world record holder and neighbors, Don and Geneva Emmons over to my patch. And I even kept my 1028 hidden from them so I would have something to hopefully show them at the end of the season. But Don told me he'd allready looked at it. Lol. I am a lucky grower.

All tilled up. My final lineup includes 1421.5 Stelts, 1622 Young, 1556.5 Werner, 1236 Harp, 1658 Young, 1099* Jacobus. I am putting up 4 8' x 10' greenhouses and have gotten 4 heavy duty soil cables this season.

Here is the 1622 Fire Dragon that unfortunely the deere ate the whole mainvine tip on last night. It had a pumpkin that would have been ready to pollinate at 11' plus in around 10 days. I cut it back to a healthey secondary.
Wednesday, June 6 View Page
Here is the 1421.5 Stelts that the deer also ate the mainvine tip on last night. I was sick this morning about it for like 15 minutes. I cut it back to a secondary also. Luckily they haven't gotten to my 2nd biggest plant, the 1236 Harp. I pray that the deer don't eat it too. I also have the 1099* Jacobus squash still doing well.

Second Place Squash at the Puyallup fair. I am so happy that they wanted it for carving!! Good job to all the growers who showed up. People came from as far as Spokane and Oregon! And while I have your ear for a second i would like to tell you that all the pumpkin growers mean a lot to me. Most of us only see each other a few times a year or less, and when we get together it feels like we are best friends that hang out everday. That kind of comradery is rare in life, and you can be assured that even though all my pumpkins blew up and cracked this year and I had a route of bad luck, I understand that at the end of the day its about the people. The friendships you make in life mean everything. And i can firmly say that I feel that the Growers who are in our clubs, the PGVG and the PNWGPG, are some of the finest people whom i have ever met. And you can put that on your scale and weigh it!

And congratulations to Cindy in Olympia. ;) You have done your farm, your family, and your community proud. You are the Star of Littlerock! And you have shown us that the REAL capital of Washington State is in OLYMPIA!

Nice job to my friend Rollie Kroeger, whom is a great anouncer. There was a Hall of fame grower at the weigh-off and quite possibly in my opinion a handfull of others or more that will probably be in there someday.'((
