In 2009, I didn't do a diary, so I'd like you all to see what my results were. Here is my 736 Barenie which was grown from the 985 Werner X sibb. It was weighed at the Henslers Nursery Weigh-Off.

This is my 1032 Barenie, and my new personal best. It was grown on my 1112 Barenie plant X open pollination. It was my mistake thinking I had one more day before that female would open.

My last 2009 Pumpkin was the 724 Barenie UOW. It was weighed right here, at my parents, before it was carved as part of our giant pumpkin display. It was grown on the 926 Barenie and crossed with my brother John's 842 Barenie.

Seeds were planted on April 30th. The 736's both germinated in 2 1/2 days, two of the 1112's germinated on the third day, along with the 1207 Young. The 1119 Mc Mullen germinated a day and a half later, but fought to break through the starting media and when it did had only one small cot. The 901 Hunt and the last 1112 Barenie didn't germinate. I dug them up a week later, they were mush inside.

On May 11th, I put my best 4 plants into my patch. They were both 736 Barenie plants, one 1112 Barenie plant and the 1207 Young. In place of the second 736 plant, I had planned on either the 1119 Mc Mullen or the 901 Hunt, but the 1119 just didn't make the cut. It is still very small, but has gotten its first 2 true leaves. If I have some major problem with another plant, it or the last 1112 are still here as back-ups.

May 19th, This is my 1112 Barenie in the patch on day 8. It seems like it is going to take off like my 1112 plant from last year did. Already doing ok, considering the rainy cloudy weather we have had since it came outside.
