Happy New Year to everyone and may the Lucky number "13" bring everyone a new PB...:)
Saturday, January 5 View Page
Just a short post to pay hommage to our patch dog Lucky who has passed on. Altough he was not ours and we only spend time with him at our patch, he will be missed dearly. Many many hours we spend togheter. He was there in scorching sun or terrential rain. No matter how grim or how good the situation, all he wanted was to be our friend, play fetch. I dont think i will ever grow again without remembering this wonderfull animal. Rest in peace Lucky, we will miss you dearly.....

Ok,,,its time to really get started. After tilling in the rye for second time several days ago,,its time to get the plastic down for a month of solarizing. Why? well..we have pathogens that we know will hit us. The solarizing will kill some of the pathoghen and slow down the rate of infection. Wich means that we will have nice big healthy plants before we start to see issues. A good start is essential if we want to grow a personal best.

And this is why. The 7.33 Hunts are some of the most aggresive tomato plants we have grown this early on. Seeing that they are germed and grown next to several other seeds and varieties, its by far superior in leaf growth, root growth and overall appearance. Four of them will hit our patch later on. They look very promising...

Heavy Carrot...Still putting out new growth each day...:)
Saturday, November 16 View Page
Heavy Carrot is still putin out new green growth. The pics show a 3 month differance in growth. The carrot has been growing now for 7 months. The WR Carrot grew for 14 months..:)
Saturday, December 14 View Page
Heavy Carrot is now 8 months old. I just measured it and since the temps outside have gone down it has started growing. It has grown 1 1/2 inches in one month, it is now 8 1/2 inches around at the top. And look real close, now I've never grown one of these before but hoping that tiny little thing startin to poke out is another carrot starting to grow and wrap around the other one. I know from pictures of the Heavy Carrots they look like several carrots fused into one. So keepin fingers crossed that this is the start of that on this one. If anyone knows about these Heavy Carrots please email me and let me know if that is the start of the wrap around I see in pictures. [email protected]
