Plants were doing well till farmer up wind from our patch decide to spray weed killer near the patch . Trying to keep plants alive . Not looking good . If plants don`t make it , I may get to take a vacation this year .

not alot to talk about . nothing has taken so far . 1368 DEVLIN and 980 FREDRICKS keeps aborting everything on the mains , been doing the ice bottle and cooler method but nothing . 1059 V/M aborted at day 12 and field pumpkins are doing same aborting . Maybe the high heat and rain soaked soil here . Worst luck ever in pollinations . Another disappointing season.

This is going to be a HD contender . Nice orange color on the 1059V/M . Was supposed to be a just in case plant , but did not have the heart to pull it and just let it run on the edge of the patch . Not going to get big because there is not much plant behind it .

Checked the 996 Haist again today and the water bottle is still the same distance from the squash . Another words not much growth during these 45-48 degree nights . Ned and Andy it looks like you two will stomp my butt again this year with your squash .

I am getting really worried about the monkey butt blossom end on the 996 Haist . She is still growing ever so slowly , no 1000lber here (maybe 900 plus if she last). Real pretty green color .

Pulled the 1014 kuhn and 947 cuypers today . YVD strikes in my patch again . Just trying to hold one on for the weighoff. Also this starts the longest week of the season for me , tomorrow I leave for church youth camp as a leader and have to get updates off of the wife . I hope my babies are ok .

Biggest field pumpkin to date so far this year. Will take to a local fair in 2 weeks if it holds on that long . Have several others that are still growing and solid green.

The 996 hiast squash continues to grow REALLY slow also . I think these cold nights in the 45-50 continues to kill good groweth. She is a low wide grower .

This is the one thats been worrying/surprising me . It is catching up to everything else in the patch . Thinking it may just give me a new PB if it grows till weighoff time.

Well since the AG`s , squash and FP`s have really slowed down to a crawl . Decided to take a famlily trip this past weekend . Went to Sights and Sound theater to see Noah and ate at the Shady Maple . Good food and a good show . Had a great with family . Sitting in the hotel on the internet and my wife walked by saying surely your not on big pumpkins while were on a weekend vacation . Did not answer her and just logged off .

Could not stand it no more , had to post some pictures even though they are small pumpkins. Here is the 1059 V/M don`t think she will be a HD contender . Looks good but not good enough with Ned , Andy and Teds sweet looking pumpkins coming to ALtoona.

As the season is quickly coming to a end , it was a tough and trying year here . Thanks to my daughter for her help . With out her it really would have been overwhelming . Hopefully we have something left for Altoona . No our pretty orange one will not be a EXH .

Well the season has not been a total bust for us here at Team Carson . We took one of our pumpkins to a local amusement park called Del Grosso`s for there harvestfest . Got a ribbon first place and a little extra prize money . Some bigtime growers didn`t bring there pumpkins there this year or we would not have won (Thanks Frank and Jim) .

This looks like one of Gansert pumpkins , but sorry Norm its our 150sq ft or less alot less pumpkin. Grown off of the 1059 V/M . Ain`t she a looker .

Had a great time at the Altoona weighoff yesterday . I kind of figured turn out would be down a little this year and it was . My daughter and I did fairly well (for us). Thanks to the lifting crew/registration/computer people and MC`s . Sam`s club provided forklifts and drivers all day . Many hands made the work load light. I may have pictures if I can figure out this camera .

Next one is my daughter with the 1059Vincent McGill . Totally awesome color and shape . Bottom is Kayla`s nice pumpkin . It is the second one grown off of the same 980 fredricks plant . Total of around 1300lbs on that plant.

I want to thank two growers for giving me seeds of theirs to plant this past season . Karl Haist - for the 996* it give us a nice looking 687.5lb squash grown from a very small plant . Jim Fredricks - for the 980 which we grew two pumpkins on the one plant that totalled over 1300lbs (653.5 and 665)and both were a nice orange.
