not alot to talk about . nothing has taken so far . 1368 DEVLIN and 980 FREDRICKS keeps aborting everything on the mains , been doing the ice bottle and cooler method but nothing . 1059 V/M aborted at day 12 and field pumpkins are doing same aborting . Maybe the high heat and rain soaked soil here . Worst luck ever in pollinations . Another disappointing season.

This is going to be a HD contender . Nice orange color on the 1059V/M . Was supposed to be a just in case plant , but did not have the heart to pull it and just let it run on the edge of the patch . Not going to get big because there is not much plant behind it .

Checked the 996 Haist again today and the water bottle is still the same distance from the squash . Another words not much growth during these 45-48 degree nights . Ned and Andy it looks like you two will stomp my butt again this year with your squash .

I am getting really worried about the monkey butt blossom end on the 996 Haist . She is still growing ever so slowly , no 1000lber here (maybe 900 plus if she last). Real pretty green color .

The 996 hiast squash continues to grow REALLY slow also . I think these cold nights in the 45-50 continues to kill good groweth. She is a low wide grower .

Well the season has not been a total bust for us here at Team Carson . We took one of our pumpkins to a local amusement park called Del Grosso`s for there harvestfest . Got a ribbon first place and a little extra prize money . Some bigtime growers didn`t bring there pumpkins there this year or we would not have won (Thanks Frank and Jim) .

Had a great time at the Altoona weighoff yesterday . I kind of figured turn out would be down a little this year and it was . My daughter and I did fairly well (for us). Thanks to the lifting crew/registration/computer people and MC`s . Sam`s club provided forklifts and drivers all day . Many hands made the work load light. I may have pictures if I can figure out this camera .

I want to thank two growers for giving me seeds of theirs to plant this past season .
Karl Haist - for the 996* it give us a nice looking 687.5lb squash grown from a very small plant .
Jim Fredricks - for the 980 which we grew two pumpkins on the one plant that totalled over 1300lbs (653.5 and 665)and both were a nice orange.
