WOW; April 17th and my first diary entry of the year! This off season was great; very much enjoyed attending the seminars in Vegas and in Ohio. Warm temps have allowed us to get everything ammended, plowed, disked, and covered in plastic. Resisting the urge to start early since the OVGPG weigh off is 2 weeks later this year! Blaine has been loving the flury of gak gaks [tractors] in the patch.

1789 is about 5 days away from being pulled out [waaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh]. every single female gets about dime sized and then fails to develop. not one single female has bloomed on the whole entire plant. i'm extremely sad.

And so it is down to 1. I hate when all my eggs are in one basket. 1818 is doing great though!

N: Are you sure you added those numbers right? That would mean it did 70 lbs per day.
C: Yes, I'm sure! WEIRD.
N: Ohhhhh, I'm the one who added wrong when Kelly and I did the day 36 measurements! OOPS!
So yeah, day 40, adding right or not adding right, this is actually bigger than it appears. With splits plaguing growers everywhere, and this horrible shape, I am just keeping my fingers crossed we can ride this one out.

Days like today I'm happy we have an inline scale. This baby weighed 1197 lbs. Not to shabby. Put it in the yard so people can take pics while it lasts. 1818.5 Bryson.
Measurements in next post! My notebook isn't at this house!
