This years seed line up will be the 903.5 Williams and the 1211.5 Toftness...They have been soaked and placed in the ziplock baggie and placed on a heating pad today. I'm trying to get a jump on the season this year...I hope that using soil heating cables and a hoop house will help get a full size plant by the end of June. Pictures will follow. I am only growing (2) plants this year in the hope that I will be able to give each more attention. Plus I don't have that much room. I usually try to force 3 or 4 plants into too small an area.

One of each seed was moved to the garden. the remaining will be a back up incase of any problems with two in the ground now. It is cool and rainy out side, but feel warm with the heating cables and hoop house.

While checking out the garden today I had quite a shock. I saw a woodchuck. That's not unusual...but this one was coming out of a tree near my patch. I think he's planning an aerial assault on my 'kins. I wish I had my camera or a gun...

pollinated the 1211 with the 903 this AM around 7:30...It was a decent 4 lober...this is the second I have pollinated on the 1211, the first didn't look that good so I am not expecting much... Of note, (not a complaint) I have not seen a single cuc beetle or svb...the traps have been out and are empty. I do have a concern about my long gourds, cucs and squash...they have some very healthy leaves, but also have some very brown speckled leaves too. I lost (2) lgs that developed a brown ring about around the stem, about 3inches , above the ground. it then just fell over.
