This storm was the worst I have seen in quite awhile. I sure wish Spring would hurry up and get here!!
Saturday, February 9 View Page
As you can see it was over the top of my snow blower!
Thursday, March 7 View Page
Snow is almost gone. Winter rye is looking good.
Thursday, March 21 View Page
Well, we got more snow. Winter just won't go away. Note: I created this diary entry via a test version of the new BigPumpkins app on my iPod.

The buckwheat is filling in and getting tall. We are going to have to till it in soon.
Sunday, June 2 View Page
Decison time. These are both from Snowball.

And then there was one. The plant that was on the left had a flat double vine going. Posting this right from the patch using the new app.

It is really cool when a world-record holder like Ron one-ton Wallace reads your diary and sends some advice.
Sunday, June 2 View Page
Ron, the buckwheat has been tilled in. Thanks!
Monday, June 3 View Page
Looks like my remaining Snowball plant might be double-vining too. It is trying to take a right turn. Got some bamboo stakes in there to get it going in the right direction.

This is a Trinidad Scorpion hot pepper plant that I grew from seed. Thanks Marley.
Tuesday, July 2 View Page
I have not been able to get a pumpkin set on the main vine. They either shrivel up or die before they even open.

I finally got a chance to go fishing with Scott Marley! What an awesome day! Scott is great guide. These are just some of the fish we caught that day. I CANNOT WAIT to go bass fishing with him again! Thanks again Marley!!
Tuesday, July 9 View Page
Finally got one to open on the main! I hope the pollination takes.
Wednesday, July 17 View Page
The last pollination on the main aborted, probably due to the heat. Now I am seeing a yellowing of my leaves. Things are not looking good and I am running out of time.
Wednesday, July 17 View Page
Here is another picture of the leaves.
Wednesday, July 24 View Page
The disease continued to spread through my plant as seen here. This is the end of the line. I pulled the plant out shortly after the picture was taken.

Another CT River smallie.
Tuesday, August 20 View Page
Matt D. took me and my two sons out on the CT River to try and catch some channel catfish. We had a great time! Thanks Matt!
Tuesday, August 20 View Page
We went on a nice boat ride and Matt showed us this eagles nest. Turned out both the male and female were home, so we got to see two bald eagles!
Tuesday, August 20 View Page
Matt took us to a spot that produced his own PB channel catfish 10 years ago! We brought all kinds of bait including nightcrawlers, shrimp and mackerel. It was not long and the bite was on!!
Tuesday, August 20 View Page
Matt helping to remove the first catfish from Nicholas' line.

Nicholas with his first CT River channel catfish.
Tuesday, August 20 View Page
We caught a wide variety of fish even though we were targeting catfish. This is a small striper Nicholas caught. Notice the damage on the top of the fish. Apparently this fish is an honorary catfish as he appears to have nine lives. We released him so he could grow bigger.
Tuesday, August 20 View Page
Here is Christopher with a nice black crappie.
Tuesday, August 20 View Page
Christopher got his share of channel catfish too!
Tuesday, August 20 View Page
Another catfish caught by Nicholas.
Tuesday, August 20 View Page
It was strange but we were catching lots of smallmouth bass on shrimp too! Christopher caught this nice one.
Tuesday, August 20 View Page
I even caught one. All together we caught 12 catfish, 9 smallmouth bass, 1 striper, 1 black crappie and 1 rock bass. Thanks again Matt! We all had a great time.
Thursday, August 22 View Page
Thanks for the great day of fishing Scott! Sorry about messing up your boat. It seems to be what I am known for now.
Friday, August 23 View Page
I took the kids out on Candlewood Lake with Paul Mueller, a CT bass pro, and we caught the smallmouth bass of a lifetime!
